THE BELT SYSTEM
The practice of Taekwondo covers a wide range of disciplines and purpose, including sparring [kyorugi], patterns [poomsae], breaking [kyok-pa] and self-defence [hosh insul].
We follow the British Taekwondo Generation’s Syllabus to guide you through the required standards and enable you to achieve your Black Belt and beyond.
NOVICE LOW

Novice Low are the belts that students new to Taekwondo wear and they show
that you have grasped the basic technical abilities required by a Taekwondo student.
NOVICE HIGH

Novice High are the belts that students who have trained for 6-12 months wear and
show that you have built on the basic technical abilities required as a Taekwondo student.
INTERMEDIATE LOW

Intermediate Low shows the student has grasped the basics and is now acquiring skills
more rapidly and with less conscious effort. Errors also become less frequent as your physical abilities improve.
INTERMEDIATE HIGH

Intermediate High your abilities both physical and technical are now allowing you to perform with speed and power in your movements. Less conscious effort is needed when you perform.
ADVANCED LOW

Advanced Low students now find techniques are easier to learn and existing techniques
have more power and speed. At this level you are now ready for Black Belt.
